OBP Fuel Surge Tank and Pumps

Introducing the newly relaunched Fuel Surge Tank system, a sophisticated solution designed to eliminate the risk of fuel starvation in your vehicle’s fuel setup. Unlike the traditional OBP Swirl Pots, which depend on external inline fuel pumps, the innovative Fuel Surge Tank (FST) employs internal pumps housed within a compact reservoir. This clever design ensures a consistent and reliable supply of fuel to the high-pressure pumps, guaranteeing that your engine receives an uninterrupted flow of fuel during even the most demanding conditions.

The FST tank is strategically installed between your fuel tank and the engine rail, acting as a vital intermediary in the fuel delivery system. A dedicated fuel pump channels fuel from the main tank to the FST, where internal pumps efficiently distribute it to fuel filters before it reaches the engine rail. In cases where there is excess fuel from the rail, it is seamlessly returned to the Fuel Surge Tank through an integrated pressure regulator, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Crafted with precision, the OBP Fuel Surge Tank system features a striking black anodised CNC machined aluminium lid and a robust mounting boss, both of which rest atop a durable 3mm aluminium tank finished with a sleek black powder coating. The mounting boss is secured tightly using a high-quality Viton O-ring, and it is fastened with ten stainless steel bolts, providing a dependable seal that has been thoroughly leak-tested to ensure maximum reliability and performance. This exceptional combination of innovative design and quality materials makes the OBP Fuel Surge Tank system an essential component for any serious performance vehicle.

At the top of the system, you will find several important ports designed for efficient fuel management:

– AN6 Breather Port: This port allows for the release of pressure, ensuring the system operates smoothly without any build-up.

– AN6 Return Line: This line directs excess fuel back to the surge tank, maintaining optimal fuel levels and preventing overflow.

– AN6 Feed From the Fuel Tank: This connection brings fuel from your vehicle’s main fuel tank into the surge tank for further processing.

– AN6 Outlet: This outlet provides a pathway for the fuel to flow to the engine, ensuring consistent and reliable performance.

The Surge Tank system is designed for versatility and can be configured with either a single Bosch 044 equivalent pump (model OBPFP300B) or dual GSS342 equivalent pumps (model OBPFP342) for increased fuel flow capacity.

Single Pump Setup (OBP-FST-300):
This configuration includes:
– A robust Fuel Surge Tank designed to manage fuel surges effectively.
– One Bosch 044 Equivalent Fuel Pump, which is capable of delivering up to 270 liters per hour (LPH) and sufficient flow for engines producing up to 500 brake horsepower (BHP).
– A Bottom Filter Adapter that ensures only clean fuel enters the pump.
– All necessary wiring pre-installed for the pump, simplifying the installation process.
– Conveniently placed top wiring connectors that allow for quick connections without the need to dismantle the tank.

Double Pump Setup (OBP-FST-342):
For those seeking even greater performance, this setup features:
– A high-capacity Fuel Surge Tank to accommodate increased fuel demands.
– Two GSS342 Equivalent Fuel Pumps, each capable of producing up to 340 LPH, supporting engine performances of up to 500 BHP.
– Two Bottom Filter Adapters providing redundancy to ensure clean fuel flow.
– All wiring is pre-installed, ensuring a hassle-free setup.
– Top wiring connectors that eliminate the need to open the tank, making maintenance and connections more straightforward.

This surge tank system is engineered for both reliability and efficiency, catering to the needs of high-performance vehicles while ensuring ease of installation and operation.
