OBP vertical reverse mount hydraulic handbrakes have been designed so that the master cylinder is facing forward in the car under normal handbrake operation. This offers versatility for fitting it within a limited space. The kit contains a 650mm handle and bracket assembly, with a rubber grip, clevis and cylinder if chosen.
Drifting and Rally driving requires extensive use of the handbrake, which can show weaknesses in standard cable type handbrakes. The hydraulic system eliminates the weaknesses as in the standard cable type handbrakes. The hydraulic system connects into the brake line that runs to the rear callipers and requires a lot less force to completely lock both rear wheels when needed.
These hydraulic handbrakes from OBP are constructed out of lightweight steel with a black powder coated finish, giving you an extremely strong product that will last a lifetime. Due to the lightweight design these units are no heavier than some of the the more expensive aluminium designs. These systems are predominantly for competition use and feature a 650mm long lever and box, clevis assembly and rubber grip handle.
A hydraulic hand brake can be added into the rear brake line system without changing the original mechanical handbrake setup.
Optimum Balance have an array of interesting products and the range of hydraulic handbrake kits is no exception. This model can be purchased without any master cylinder, with a non-integral master cylinder or with a non-integral master cylinder and a knob type brake bias valve as required.
PLEASE NOTE: Hydraulic handbrakes are usually used with a 0.625" master cylinder, the alternative sizes are there as an option.
